Welcome to TheParaHunter.com

Happy ramblings and information about the paranormal.

Welcome!

Welcome to my website! I'm a simple guy from Indiana who has an enthusiasm for most things paranormal. I also enjoy working out, computers, electronics, and disc golf. I've also recently been dabbling in astronomy and am looking to tip into that little hobby in the near future.

For over three years I've been investigating the paranormal, focusing on what's commonly known as ghost hunting. Formally it's known as consciousness research. The question is whether or not the consciousness, the "who" of who we are, can survive outside the physical body. If this is the case, if body and spirit/soul/consciousness/ personality are two separate entities than this is a solid line of evidence for what are called 'ghosts'.

I've conducted and assisted in over 15 formal investigations and over 30 informal hunts. Ghost hunting is more than a hobby to me but not quite an obsession. I started searching for the paranormal after watching shows like Ghost Hunters and Paranormal state, though I've been interested in ghosts  since I was a boy. Despite that interest, I had never had a paranormal experience myself until very recently, (see the box about Jim Harold's Campfire below.)

I take a pretty skeptical bent when it comes to the paranormal, driving towards a more scientific study of the subject. My wife is more on the believer side of things as she is strongly convinced she's had several paranormal experiences throughout her life. We tend to keep one another in check and work quite well together. Unfortunately, I also tend to be a bit of a "cooler" with the paranormal, perhaps because of my skeptical nature. I could walk into the house from Poltergeist and every bit of activity would stop.

Check my Blog page for a lot more of how I think (if you can call it that!!). Most of my updates to this site will be on my blog. Recently I've started a new series on my blog page I call "Blocks in the Road." These entries cover topics I consider stopping points to paranormal research, from hoaxers and (cynical) skeptics to the problems with human perception when it comes to observing something inexplicable.

My first...and only?...paranormal experience

I had the opportunity to share my only paranormal experience on a public-forum podcast recently. Click  below to listen! The podcast is put on by a gentleman and paranormal enthusiast named Jim Harold. Jim has two podcasts, actually, The Paranormal Podcast and Jim Harold's Campfire. Campfire, which is the one I was on, is open to anybody who wishes to share stories and experiences they've had with the paranormal. There are some pretty weird tales on the podcast but Jim does a good service to all in opening that kind of forum to anybody who wishes to share.

I've recently had the opportunity to return to Jim's Campfire and share a compelling story about a young girl who, potentially, is developing psychic or empathic abilities.

Paranormal Activity 2 Teaser Trailer

The first one was entertaining but not really that frightening, perhaps it's just because of who I am and what I do. What was really amusing was the young 20-something guy behind me during the movie who was literally crying throughout the film due to his own fear. He seriously needed to get a spine and a set of balls.

About the Site

My site is organized by a navigation bar across the top with links to my blog page; funny or paranormal videos, (including some of my own); pictures; and links to other paranormal websites. Be forewarned, some parts of my site are rated 'R' due to language and content. I've been considering putting up a wiki about the paranormal, too but that's just in the planning stages right now. Recently I removed my "Best Evidence" page. Any truly compelling paranormal evidence I'll put up here, but most of the evidence either I discover or other friends discover will be here.

I'll have other stuff on my site, tool, such as information on my disc golf hobby, :D . I promise I'll try to keep all that separate, though, in case you just don't give a crap.

I welcome comments about my site, feel free to chime in about my blog or email me, but I expect people who do comment to be respectful and offer  constructive criticism only. Bashers will be banned from my site but critical thinkers and people who want to engage in discussion, even if I don't agree with their view, are welcomed! If you want more on how to use my site, create a social profile, and share with friends, click here.

Also, please join my site! You can do so by the link on the sidebar or by clicking the button below. I very much encourage people to sign up, tell me about themselves by creating a profile, and sharing any paranormal experiences they may have had.

Enjoy!
